The family of former world champion cyclist Melissa Hoskins say her funeral will be held in her hometown of Perth. The 32-year-old died after being hit by a car being driven by her husband - fellow cyclist Rohan Dennis.

00:09 And yesterday, Melissa's parents released a statement letting people know that a funeral
00:15 service will be held in the hometown of Perth and a memorial service will be held in Adelaide
00:21 after the Tour Down Under event, which will take place later this month.
00:26 Denise Hoskins was struck by a car outside of her family home in Medindie and later died
00:32 in hospital on New Year's Eve.
00:34 Her husband, fellow world champion cyclist Rowan Dennis, has been charged with causing
00:40 her death by dangerous driving.
00:43 Now in that statement from Melissa's parents yesterday, they wrote that they were utterly
00:47 utterly devastated by her death and struggling to process what had happened.
00:52 They say not only have they lost a daughter and sister, her children have lost their mum.
00:58 A freewheeling spirit, a giver with a big heart and zest for life.
01:02 Ms Hoskins was a revered cycling talent, a 2015 champion, a two-time Olympian and she
01:10 was also well respected by her rivals all across the cycling community internationally.
01:16 That's why so many people have continued to pay tribute to Ms Hoskins since her death.

01:25 His career featured multiple world championships and medals at the Olympics.
01:29 He's been bailed to appear at the Adelaide Magistrates Court in March.
