00:02 When they come to us,
00:19 it's just like it's them raising their hand and saying,
00:20 "Hey, help me be a better romantic communicator."
00:24 AI is helping in an extraordinary way.
00:28 Not everybody could afford a dating coach.
00:31 Dating coaches are expensive.
00:33 So thinking about how actual users of dating apps
00:36 are going to rely on AI for helping them to do things
00:40 like creating profiles and writing messages.
00:43 Also, I think what's really exciting is thinking about
00:46 how it might be used in the matchmaking process,
00:48 potentially interact with AI.
00:51 (upbeat music)
00:53 They've had people self-report,
01:02 like, "What are you looking for?
01:03 What do you want in a partner?
01:04 Who are you?"
01:05 And then they've fed that information into the algorithm.
01:07 And in doing that,
01:08 learned that people aren't very good judges
01:10 of what they're actually gonna be attracted to.
01:12 So more recently with some of these apps,
01:15 they've started looking more at people's behavior.
01:18 And so one way they started to do that
01:20 was through algorithms and through compatibility matching.
01:24 And so when you look at AI
01:27 and what the future holds for some of these platforms,
01:30 I think a lot of it is about
01:32 making that matchmaking process better
01:35 because they've been using algorithms to do that.
01:37 And they've tried different variations of it.
01:40 I think there are all kinds of possibilities
01:42 for helping to make the decision fatigue
01:46 a little bit less pronounced
01:47 when you're just having to swipe through so many profiles
01:51 and also helping to make the matchmaking process better
01:55 by just improving upon some of the algorithms
01:57 that they've been using.
01:58 Some point, I think that AI is going to remove
02:01 all the heavy lifting and connect people
02:04 and say, "Hey, look, you guys are compatible.
02:06 You guys should meet."
