00:00 that makes it, I suppose the town centre itself.
00:02 - Well, the town centre helps.
00:03 I mean, Sam, what's going on here?
00:06 The town centre helps.
00:07 But it's everything they do.
00:10 It's like Mary Stevens,
00:11 one of the best parks in the country.
00:13 It really is.
00:15 And it's so nice to go there in the summer
00:17 and families are having picnics.
00:19 And, you know, it's just, it really is good, isn't it?
00:22 - Yeah, and it's nice for dog walking as well.
00:24 - And it's wonderful for dog walking, you know.
00:26 - For the kids.
00:26 - Yeah, yeah, you've got the jewellery quarter,
00:29 Halloween and Christmas, and October quarter.
00:31 The old quarter.
00:34 Halloween, it's an amazing place to go around
00:37 during Halloween. - It's a top place.
00:38 - And then at Christmas, you walk around Christmas Eve.
00:41 It's just stunning, it really is.
00:44 - So what was your reaction when you heard
00:46 that Starbridge had been voted
00:47 one of the happiest places to live in the country?
00:49 - Yeah, you know, I can't say I was surprised, but yeah.
00:53 It didn't surprise me.
00:58 - For you, what is it about Starbridge that makes it for you?
01:01 - Well, the scenery, the surrounding areas,
01:04 the woods, the parks, and the people.
01:07 - What are the people like?
01:08 I mean, what's the sort of thing
01:10 that brings the people together?
01:11 Or works for you?
01:12 - The majority of people can be really friendly,
01:18 but they're also cheerful as well.
01:21 - And obviously you've lived here your whole life,
01:23 you've never found a reason to leave, then?
01:24 - Oh yeah.
01:26 I have left a few times, but I've always come back.
01:29 - And there's, clearly there's something about it.
01:32 You know, you've brought your husband here,
01:33 and you've obviously got a life here that's worth living.
01:36 - Yeah, oh yeah, definitely, definitely.
