CEO of Inclusion Australia suggests government take action on NDIS review

The latest NDIS review has outlined 26 recommendations and a further 139 supporting actions. The chief executive of Inclusion Australia Catherine McAlpine says it's time for the government to take action.

00:05 send everyone to a tertiary hospital, no matter what their health needs are, it's not necessarily

00:10 cost effective to send everyone to an individualised NDIS plan, depending on their disability support

00:16 needs. What we want to see, and from Australia's disability strategy as well, is we want to

00:22 see that everyone with a disability gets the support they need in the context that they

00:26 are. So people are included at school with the right supports, they're included at work

00:30 with the right supports, they can live independently with the right supports, and some of those

00:34 supports will come from the NDIS.
