00:00 Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm the owner of the new sandwich deli opening in Douglas called Fork It.
00:07 And what made you take this on?
00:09 I've been thinking about it for a few years now.
00:12 It's always been a little dream of mine to open a cafe since my mum and dad had the lunchbox like seven years ago.
00:19 They sold that. So it's just something that I've wanted to do but never really quite found the right place.
00:26 And then this shop showed up early September. So we thought, if I don't do it now, I'll never do it.
00:33 I think people will be interested to know about the name. Tell me a bit about how that came about.
00:37 So the name wasn't actually the original name.
00:41 The original name I had got rejected because it was too similar to another cafe on the island.
00:49 We were then sat that night trying to think of new names and it got really frustrated.
00:59 I said a swear word and then my dad decided to turn it into something funny and said Fork It instead.
01:07 And I actually liked that. So we ran with it.
01:10 Nice and catchy. When do you open?
01:13 We open on Thursday, the 7th of December.
01:16 Excited?
01:17 Yes, I'm very nervous.
01:19 What can people expect? I've had a quick look at the menu, it looks very nice. What can people expect?
01:23 It's just going to be your typical delicatessen. Sandwiches, wraps, toasties, paninis.
01:29 We'll have a hot special every day like chillies, lasagnas, burgers maybe on a Friday.
01:35 And on the run up to Christmas it'll be the festive baguettes, bats, stuff like that.
