I'm joined by Mark Dolman from Portable Space, winner of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce
00:07
Medium to Large Business of the Year award. Has it sunk in yet Mark?
00:12
No, not yet. Obviously we were in a really strong category with three other really great
00:17
companies, so it was unexpected.
00:20
Tell us a bit more about Portable Space and what it is exactly that you do.
00:23
So Portable Space is a family owned business. It was formed in 2002. Our mission is to provide
00:31
portable accommodation and storage for everybody throughout the whole of the UK.
00:36
Like who exactly? Who are your customers?
00:38
So we trade with lots of national brands, people like Tesla, Rolls Royce, Countryside
00:45
Homes, the Vestry Group, the Royal Family. We've delivered product to Buckingham Palace.
00:52
So we're very lucky we get to work with some really exciting and talented brands.
00:56
You've grown massively since you were founded in 2002. Tell us more about that journey.
01:02
In 2002 through to 2012 Portable Space was part of a farming business and then our founder
01:09
and chairman Mark Black took the business and took it out of the family ownership and
01:14
run it from 2012 to now and we've grown significantly. We've done that by diversifying our product
01:19
range, recruiting really good people, talented people and just offering our customers a really
01:26
good service.
01:27
Now you've got the award in your hand you can relax, enjoy the rest of your evening.
01:31
What have you made of tonight's event?
01:32
It's brilliant. We've attended a few of these awards but this is one of our favourites.
01:36
It feels very personal, it feels very focused on West Suffolk and Suffolk based businesses
01:41
so yeah we really enjoy it.
01:42
Well congratulations, well done.
01:44
Thanks very much.
