00:00Now, if you're lucky enough to live on a route that survived the last 15 years,
00:04the problem is you'll be hard-pressed to find a bus that goes anywhere after five o'clock in the afternoon.
00:10Imagine a lady from the village of Honington in my constituency
00:14who has to go to the hospital West Suffolk for an appointment at 4.30 to look at her dodgy knee.
00:20The 3.32 bus runs from Honington to Bury St Edmunds four times a day,
00:24so she catches the 14.40, arrives in Bury with an hour to spare,
00:27she has her appointment, she gets out of the hospital after an hour,
00:31so it's half-past five in the afternoon, she's standing outside the hospital and she can't get home.
00:37So she's missed the last bus and she's stuck in Bury St Edmunds.
00:42She can't march ten miles home because she's got a dodgy knee and she's got no friends.
00:47So she gets a taxi. A taxi is £35.
00:53But our imaginary lady's got no choice. She has to pay £35.
00:57But that's because you have to be refused to buy.
