00:05 So it's been great. The CMAs get a little more fun every year.
00:08 You know, you start off and you don't really know anybody.
00:11 You have a couple songs out and now everybody's career is kind of getting bigger and bigger.
00:15 And it just gets more fun. There's more people to pull for.
00:17 And it's fun to see everybody tonight.
00:20 So of your friends, who are you rooting for?
00:22 Who are you excited to see once they all get in the room tonight?
00:25 I hate to root against anybody.
00:27 I've been out with Old Dominion, I think, is performing tonight.
00:30 So we've been out with them this year. I love those guys.
00:32 I'm out with Carly Pierce right now.
00:34 And I'm also a huge Chris Stapleton fan.
00:37 We had the same birthday, April 15th. Shout out. Tax Day babies.
00:42 And they're singing a song tonight that my buddy wrote.
00:45 So it's kind of a got a lot of people to pull for on that one.
00:47 So I think that's probably what I'm most excited about.
00:49 Yeah. Always feels like a family reunion at these things.
00:52 Yeah. People. That's the good thing about country music.
00:54 Everybody's like, who are you excited to bump into?
00:55 I'm like, well, luckily, I'm not not excited to bump into anybody.
01:00 Everybody. Everybody's really fun and cool, you know.
01:02 Right. So on our charts and, you know, in mainstream music as well,
01:05 we're really seeing country music have quite a moment, quite a year
01:08 as someone who's in it and has been in it.
01:10 Are you feeling that as well? What's your take?
01:12 Absolutely. I think there's so many people that had written country off
01:16 maybe a couple of years ago now diving in and being like, oh, you know what?
01:19 This is this is not too bad, which is fun.
01:22 And I've kind of benefited from that because I I don't know if, you know,
01:26 I'm pretty open about loving John Mayer and a lot of people kind of
01:29 call me this John Mayer country guy, which I'm totally fine with.
01:33 Yeah, but I like to call myself a nice gateway drug into country music.
01:36 So if they're not ready for the full on thing, they can start with me
01:39 and then, you know, tiptoe in from there.
01:41 Did you get to see the acoustic tour that John just went on?
01:43 I did. I saw it and I saw it at Madison Square Garden, which was,
01:47 I think, one of his favorite places to play, which is a really special show.
01:50 And it lined up normally when we're on the road.
01:53 You know, John Mayer, whoever you want to see,
01:55 you'll be the night before or after and you can't be there.
01:57 We had an off day in New York City.
01:59 John Mayer was there.
02:00 And I was like, I have to go.
02:02 There's no not going to this. It was awesome.
02:04 Very cool. And then in terms of you, your own career, what can we expect?
02:07 What is upcoming for maybe the rest of this year into next?
02:09 Lots of new music.
02:11 I only got to release three or four songs this year, which is upsetting.
02:14 So I think I'm going to make up for that and release like 12 to 14 next year.
02:18 I've got the second record done. Really excited about it.
02:20 I think it's some of my best stuff.
02:22 And then we're going to keep doing our own headlining tour.
02:24 We have we just announced one for February through May of next year.
02:28 And that's been really fulfilling.
02:29 We did our first one this year.
02:31 And like I was talking about, I've opened for a lot of people.
02:33 But I found that like,
02:35 you know, playing for 1500 people that bought tickets to be at your show
02:39 is way more fun than going to play for 20000 that are at a Zac Brown show.
02:43 You know, it's been really fulfilling and given me some life.
02:46 So we're going to keep trying to build that.
02:47 And see them out there next year.
