00:21 You never just arrive in a Lamborghini, you make an entrance.
00:25 And arriving in this Lamborghini is like walking into your local bar with a pair of bikini-clad supermodels.
00:32 People really notice.
00:35 This is the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 Superveloce.
00:40 It has 670 horsepower.
00:43 It will go 209 miles an hour.
00:47 It costs $480,000.
00:51 And it might just be the greatest Lamborghini ever made.
00:56 So how about we take it for a drive?
00:57 [MUSIC]
01:07 This is the lightest, most powerful, fastest Murcielago ever built.
01:21 Yet the LP670 Superveloce allows you to get closer to the edge of its truly volcanic performance
01:28 envelope than any big banger Lambo in history.
01:31 With a launch control start, the e-gear equipped LP670 will sprint to 60 miles per hour in
01:38 3.2 seconds.
01:41 The standing quarter mile is dispatched in 11.4 seconds at 125.8 miles per hour.
01:48 That's pretty much what you'd expect of a car like this.
01:52 What you won't expect is how good the LP670 is on a gnarly canyon road.
01:59 Lamborghini engineers have lightened the LP670 by 220 pounds compared with the regular Murcielago,
02:05 and you can feel it in the agile responses.
02:08 The big Lambo eats up corners, cutting left and right like Jerry Rice in his prime.
02:14 You only need to use the first two gears to destroy most switchbacks.
02:18 A second will take you north of 90 miles an hour.
02:23 At high speeds, the LP670 feels like it's bolted to the road.
02:27 The aerodynamics and suspension working together to keep the car straight and stable.
02:32 The chassis is wonderfully communicative, and for the first time in a Murcielago, it's
02:37 not whispering threats of grievous bodily harm.
02:41 You never sense you're about to be overtaken by that big V12 sitting just behind your shoulders
02:46 midway through a fast turn.
02:49 There are technically superior supercars to the Lamborghini Murcielago, which is now eight
02:53 years old.
02:55 And at an eye-watering $480,000, the LP670 Superveloce is not four times as good as a
03:02 Corvette ZR1.
03:05 But there's nothing, nothing on the road that has the sheer theatrical presence of this
03:10 Lamborghini.
03:12 It looks like a supercar, it sounds like a supercar, and now for the first time, it makes
03:19 the driver feel like Superman.
