00:00 Miss World Beauty Organization Top Model Philippines
00:03 is a precious competition that gives way to women
00:07 to show their beauty
00:09 and this is also a platform to show their talent in modeling.
00:14 So to give us important details about Miss World Beauty Organization Top Model Philippines
00:20 we will be joined by the National Director of World Beauty Organization Top Model Philippines
00:25 Sir Eduardo Domingo Jr.
00:27 and also the other candidates in Miss World Beauty Organization Top Model Philippines
00:32 who are Kayla Sarmiento, Kimberly Kate Bayumo and Selena Francine Garcia.
00:39 Good morning and welcome to Rise and Shine Philippines.
00:41 Good morning.
00:43 Our candidates are so beautiful and so talented.
00:47 Sir Dulc, can you give us an overview about this competition?
00:52 Actually, the Top Model of the World competition is the oldest modeling competition in the world.
01:00 Unfortunately, the Philippines won this competition only once in 2006
01:04 during the time of Michelle De Leon.
01:06 She was the first runner-up but then the winner that time, Miss Brazil,
01:10 decided to compete for Miss Universe so Michelle became the candidate.
01:16 We got the franchise during the pandemic because they never stopped.
01:20 It used to be with another organization.
01:23 Now, we are the Maharlika Productions Inc. that holds the franchise.
01:30 This is also the first time that we're going to have a national search for Top Model of the Philippines
01:37 and the winner will compete in the 30th edition of the Top Model of the World
01:41 and hopefully it will be hosted by the Philippines also in 2024.
01:46 Sir Ed, the Philippines has a lot of potential in modeling.
01:50 We can see that there are Filipinos in the ramps in Paris.
01:54 What is your plan to make Miss World Beauty Organization Philippines' advocacy more popular in our country?
02:02 We are actually a fusion of beauty pageant and modeling
02:07 because our candidates are required to have their own advocacies.
02:10 As a matter of fact, as early as February,
02:12 we've been touring around the Philippines to conduct feeding programs.
02:16 We support the IP communities in Mindanao and all those stuff.
02:21 Aside from modeling, we have our own advocacies.
02:25 That's why the competition is different on Sunday during the coronation.
02:30 There's a touch of modeling and pageantry.
02:33 Okay, let's go to our candidates.
02:35 What are your advocacy in joining this competition?
02:40 I would like to introduce myself.
02:43 I am Kayla Reyes-Armento, candidate number 8,
02:46 who is representing the province of Laguna.
02:49 My advocacy is the inclusion of our brothers in the PWD community.
02:54 I want them to be known and given the rights that they deserve.
02:59 Why is that your advocacy?
03:01 Well, I am a graduate of occupational therapy
03:04 and as a graduate of this course, this is one of the things I am working on.
03:08 Thank you, Kayla.
03:10 Hello, my name is Kimberly Kate Flores of Payumo.
03:14 I am from Bacolod City.
03:17 My advocacy is called social entrepreneurship,
03:21 where it gives back to the community based on what you are willing to give
03:25 and what you are capable of giving to the community.
03:29 Why did you choose that advocacy?
03:31 Because in my school, I joined a club called Serviam.
03:36 It means to serve people.
03:39 So we go to community service, we give food to children,
03:43 we give food to those less opportunate.
03:47 So based on what we have, our clothes, or anything that we have, we give.
03:53 It's not really a specific type of advocacy,
03:56 but it's also a great help because you can be a part of the solution
03:59 and bring impact.
04:02 Alright.
04:04 Good morning to everyone.
04:07 I am Celina Francine Garcia from Quezon Province.
04:10 My advocacy is all about breast cancer awareness.
04:14 I want people to know the hardships that the patients of breast cancer are experiencing.
04:20 My advocacy is breast cancer because I've seen the people who suffered
04:27 and I want them to know that we are here to support them,
04:30 that they have their family and we are giving them the support that they need.
04:36 Your advocacy is very deep.
04:38 Yes, it is.
04:39 And there are a lot of people who need the information that you provide.
04:44 But even so, this is still a competition.
04:47 How did you prepare this?
04:50 Diet, how did you...
04:53 It's very hard.
04:55 Is there a Q&A?
04:56 Yes.
04:57 There's a Q&A. This is really a pageantry.
05:00 So what are your preparations and what do you think are your competitive advantages to win?
05:06 For me, personally, I've established a discipline in myself.
05:11 Aside from pageantry, I'm also working and I've been handling a small business.
05:17 So juggling between those things, it's not easy to balance the time.
05:22 Like what you said, there are personal trainings, Q&A, courtesy visits, and sponsored visits.
05:28 So it's about knowing your priorities.
05:31 And I think that having a disciplined mindset is what made me fulfill those responsibilities
05:38 and I got an idea of what to do.
05:42 Okay, good luck.
05:43 For me, I agree with what she said.
05:48 Because I believe that we also need to do time management.
05:52 As a beauty queen, you have to be prepared always.
05:56 You have to be always alert and you have presence of mind.
06:00 That's why I'm also like that.
06:03 Because I also have school and I was absent for one week.
06:06 I missed out on a lot of schedules.
06:09 But I managed it because you need to know how to manage your time and set your priorities.
06:17 Selena?
06:18 For me, I believe that these responsibilities and challenges will help me find a new door to new opportunities.
06:28 So the platform of Ms. WBO Top Model Philippines will help us candidates to be our voice to new opportunities.
06:39 It looks like the candidates are ready for the Q&A.
06:43 Sir, what are the criteria that we should choose?
06:46 Well, aside from the usual criteria that you're supposed to be tall, beautiful, and all.
06:52 Of course, there's an X factor and that one is something that you cannot explain.
06:56 The moment you go out on the stage, the judges will definitely see that you have this and that.
07:05 And of course, we observe them because they are under quarantine right now.
07:09 We observe their attitude and behavior.
07:12 Meaning, they are housed in a hotel and without them knowing it,
07:17 you know that the staff is observing you, whether you're going out or sneaking around at night.
07:24 So, it's really about the beauty queen's attitude at the end of the day.
07:29 When is this coronation?
07:30 On Sunday.
07:31 We would like to invite everybody to please support the WBO World Beauty Organization Top Model Philippines
07:38 on Sunday at 7 o'clock at the University of the Philippines Theater in Diliman, Quezon City.
07:44 How many will they be competing?
07:46 37.
07:47 37.
07:48 Coming from different parts of the country.
07:51 Good luck to you.
07:52 Thank you.
07:53 Good luck.
07:54 Again, thank you very much for giving us the details about the WBO Top Model Philippines.
07:59 We are once again joined by the National Director of the WBO Top Model Philippines, Sir Ed Domingo Jr.
08:06 and the other candidates of the Miss World Beauty Organization Top Model Philippines,
08:11 Kayla Sarmiento, Kimberly Kate Payumo, and Selena Francine Garcia.
08:17 Again, thank you very much and good luck.
08:19 Good luck.
