00:00 I'm Laurie Blake, welcome to the WrestleTalk News, because on Fridays we wear pink.

00:12 So AEW has been feeling the heat recently, with some really low viewing figures, Tony

00:17 Khan Twitter ranting his little socks off, and now the backfiring of the big announcement

00:21 announcement on top of all this, you've got Layard, a healthy dollop of the CM Punk

00:26 drama too.

00:27 And now it seems that they've also done something not so nice for someone very evil

00:31 to boot.

00:32 Because Dan Howzen has posted on Twitter, seemingly in frustration with the company.

00:36 So the thing is, the star's last match with the company was eight months ago at Revolution

00:39 where he suffered a torn pec in a four-way title match for the Tag Team Championships.

00:43 With eight months of recovery though, and Halloween, the gosh darn spookiest day of

00:47 all days, before Dynamite, it was expected by many fans that Dan Howzen would be returning

00:52 to our screens this week, especially because the company started teasing his arrival with

00:56 vignettes.

00:57 But Wednesday passed with no sign, no hide, no hair, nor even a mention of the Curse user,

01:02 which seemingly led to Dan Howzen reposting a near decade old tweet from none other than

01:08 CM Punk, the bloody king of being upset at AEW.

01:12 The tweet read "This poop just ain't fun anymore" and it's one that Punk posted

01:16 mere months before he walked out of WWE and the general wrestling business for seven long

01:22 years.

01:23 Adding to the frustrations of Dan Howzen is that he was in the building for Dynamite

01:27 as he corrected a fan who said he was not, saying "wrong", and posted a photo of

01:31 himself seemingly backstage.

01:32 But you know, why use Dan Howzen when you've just signed young, hip and up and coming,

01:37 hopping, happening new talents like...

01:42 Ric Flair.

01:43 Because woooo, yes, AEW announced that they have signed a multi-year deal with The Nature

01:48 Boy.

01:49 He, of course, debuted on Dynamite as a surprise for Sting, two woos in a room, and he will

01:53 be working with the icon for his upcoming retirement tour.

01:55 However, Fightful Select also dug up some extra details about how this new deal came

01:59 together, and oh boy, they're weird.

02:03 So apparently Ric Flair has an energy drink, just like all the young, hot talents these

02:07 days.

02:08 It's called Woooo, and apparently Ric Flair's deal is very similar to Randy Savage's

02:12 WCW deal from the mid-90s, in that part of getting Flair for AEW was procuring a deal

02:17 with the energy drink that covers a significant portion, if not all, of Flair's salary

02:22 in All Elite Wrestling.

02:24 In the 90s, Savage had a lucrative sponsorship deal with Slim Jim after departing the WWF

02:29 for WCW, and by landing the Slim Jim deal for the promotion, Eric Bischoff managed to

02:33 cover a large portion of Savage's salary.

02:36 You might be wondering, like I am, why AEW buy another old man?

02:40 Well Fightful did some digging and asking, and sources told them that merchandising was

02:43 cited as a big possibility, between video games, action figures and general merchandise,

02:48 those are seen as big openings for the usage of Flair if those are part of the deal.

02:53 But it seems from Flair's perspective that the energy drink was the real sticking point

02:56 as he revealed to Mark Raimondi of ESPN that he took it to WWE first.

03:00 He said "Out of courtesy, we ran it by WWE and they have so much going on.

03:04 It's no fault of anybody.

03:06 With the merger and so much going on, they moved past it."

03:09 But Flair isn't just in AEW to hawk energy drinks, because while he told PWInsider that

03:14 he doesn't think he would wrestle in AEW, he has just made it very clear to everybody

03:19 that I can take bumps, I have a doctor's release to do anything I want like that, do I think

03:23 I'll ever wrestle again?

03:24 No.

03:25 Would I like to?

03:26 Obviously.

03:27 I'm never going to say no.

03:37 Exciting Signing to another now.

03:39 It seems as if WWE officially set to welcome back a star into the fold after much speculation

03:43 in recent months.

03:45 That star is former NXT Champion and WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane who departed

03:50 the company on good terms back in December 2021.

03:53 As I alluded to, Kairi's WWE arrival has hardly been a well kept secret as it was reported

03:58 by PWInsider back in August that the Pirate Princess had agreed a deal to return to the

04:03 company.

04:04 However, now it seems that things have been taken up a notch as WrestleVotes reported

04:07 that Kairi has now been added to WWE's internal roster with her official resigning imminent.

04:13 Despite this report seemingly confirming Kairi's impending return, there was some confusion

04:19 which now seems to have been cleared up as conflicting reports from PWInsider initially

04:23 suggested that Kairi had not in fact been added to internal rosters after all.

04:28 WrestleVotes then added an update saying that Kairi was on internal listings, however was

04:32 grouped in the miscellaneous section that features the likes of Stephanie McMahon, Triple

04:37 H, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Titus O'Neil and Tyler Breeze.

04:41 Pitch names for that faction in the comments below.

04:44 Then in another update PWInsider would backtrack and confirm that Kairi was in fact on WWE's

04:50 internal roster but had yet to be assigned a brand.

04:53 So I think it's safe to say that this one's a go now.

04:56 Maybe.

04:57 Maybe.

04:58 Anyone else got anything conflicting to say?

04:59 Anyone at all?

05:00 I hope not.

05:03 Speaking of updates on WWE returns, albeit ones that look far less straightforward, a

05:09 surprise surprise, guess who we're talking about, it's time for another CM Punk update.

05:14 With Survivor Series just three short weeks away, we are now approaching crunch time for

05:18 those hypothetical talks between CM Punk and WWE to happen because by all accounts, despite

05:23 initial reports last month suggesting so, they did not in fact happen.

05:28 This was confirmed by Fightful Select in a new update which stated that not only was

05:31 Punk not signed to WWE or planned to be signed by WWE, but there were in fact no negotiations

05:38 whatsoever between the two sides according to WWE higher ups.

05:41 Instead, it seems that the furthest things they ever got was simply feelers sent out

05:44 by Punk, nothing more, nothing less.

05:49 Squiddly CM Punks.

05:50 The report then detailed the company and roster's response to the Punk rumours, specifically

05:54 around the time they were really making the rounds in early October.

05:57 Because around that same time, WWE hosted Fastlane of course, which like any WWE event

06:01 nowadays had a post-show media scrum where the media could ask whatever bloody questions

06:06 they bloody well please.

06:08 According to Fightful, one of the topics expected to come up was of course Mr. Pepsi Phil, yet

06:12 very surprisingly nobody took that Pepsi plunge.

06:16 But the report does note that WWE were surprised by the lack of Punk questions, with Triple

06:20 H and some talent prepared to answer questions on the former AEW star's WWE return.

06:26 However while many were shocked to not hear about Punk being brought up, the answer according

06:29 to Fightful would have sounded like this.

06:32 "That there's no remaining ill will between the two sides and the possibility is always

06:36 there but that Punk wasn't signed, that negotiations weren't ongoing and that he

06:40 wasn't planned for the show as of then and that fans shouldn't buy tickets with the

06:44 expectation of seeing him."

06:47 When WWE higher ups were asked again regarding this on Monday October 30th, the answer from

06:51 WWE was still reportedly a firm no.

06:54 So with WWE out, what of his other possible destination?

06:58 TNA.

06:59 TNA President Scott D'Amore had quite the opposite response.

07:03 Speaking to PWMania he said that having Punk backstage at Bound for Glory was "a pleasure"

07:09 and that the doors open for Punk in TNA in the future.

07:13 So what does Punk himself have to say in all this?

07:15 Any little hints or teases?

07:17 Let me just check my imaginary phone for his Instagram story.

07:21 My real phone's over there.

07:22 And I like you guys, but I don't like you that much to get up and go get it.

07:27 He said sometimes your value isn't seen until your absence is felt.

07:31 Ah, never mind, he's just joining his pal Dan Housen for a world time shot at AEW instead.

07:49 With a card of rather hefty, at least by WWE's current standards, 8 matches, one would think

07:54 that there would be little room for any more on that plane.

07:57 You would be wrong as it seems another star who was seemingly not planned for the card

08:01 may have a role after all, and it could be a big one.

08:06 That star in question is the Aussie icon Grayson Waller, with WWE reportedly considering adding

08:11 a segment featuring Waller to the Premium Live event according to PWInsider Elite.

08:16 Even in a potentially very related move, Waller threw a random shot at football icon Cristiano

08:20 Ronaldo on X saying "Soccer is a mediocre sport.

08:25 No idea why people praise this flop so much" alongside a gif of Ronaldo.

08:30 As many of you may know, Ronaldo is currently residing in Riyadh playing for Saudi Pro League

08:35 side Al Maseer, so he is a local.

08:39 And he did recently attend the very same event as both Vince McMahon and The Undertaker,

08:43 that being the boxing match between Tyson Fury and Vincent Ngannou in Riyadh last Saturday.

08:49 So pure speculation, but maybe CR7 and Vinnie Mack had a little chat.

08:56 Maybe.

08:57 But all of that won't matter if Crown Jewel doesn't actually go ahead of course.

09:00 Yes, because it seems there are some real concerns within WWE regarding the weather

09:04 this weekend, because various weather forecast sites are reporting that Riyadh could be seeing

09:08 some huge thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon.

09:11 According to BWE on X, these forecasts are causing worry for many in WWE due to the heavy

09:16 rain expected at the weekend.

09:18 Because the Muhammad Abdo Arena, which is hosting Crown Jewel, is an open air venue,

09:23 meaning heavy rain will most certainly not be welcome.

09:26 But we might get all the commentators in ponchos again.

09:29 That's quite fun.

09:30 AccuWeather currently lists the weather for the day as sunshine mixing with some clouds

09:34 with a thunderstorm in spots in the afternoon, with the evening being clear to partly cloudy.

09:39 While BBC Weather shows thundery showers for late afternoon with a chance of rain in the

09:43 evening.

09:44 And somehow saying that makes me feel I should be doing it like this.

09:50 Crown Jewel is set to kick off at 8pm in Riyadh, so hopefully for WWE's sake the weather will

09:53 have calmed down a bit by then.

10:14 First up we have the Viking Raiders.

10:15 Eric, who you will have noticed has been absent from WWE TV lately, with his partner Ivar receiving

10:20 a bit of a singles push on Raw.

10:21 Unfortunately, the reason for Eric's absence is due to him requiring C6/C7 neck fusion

10:27 surgery.

10:28 Fortunately, this surgery was a success.

10:31 In a statement on Instagram, Eric announced the news, thanking WWE, the Andrew Sports

10:35 Medicine Center and St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama for the care, saying

10:40 that his recovery begins now.

10:42 In some more good news from those magicians at St. Andrew's Sports Medicine, Braun Strowman

10:46 also seemingly got a positive update during a recent visit, as in a post from the center's

10:50 Instagram, the Monster Among Men was pictured along with the caption "It's always a

10:54 fun day when our friend Adam Scherr stops by the clinic."

10:57 Strowman would then reply in the comments, saying "Great to see y'all today.

11:02 Thanks for the good news."

11:03 Strowman has been out of action after undergoing his own neck fusion surgery back in June.

11:07 Lastly, Big E would also recently comment on his own recovery from his C1 fracture suffered

11:13 back in March 2022.

11:14 Unfortunately, however, it seems as if things are no less clear on E's chances of an in-ring

11:19 return any time soon.

11:21 Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Big E said "I wish I had more information for you.

11:26 Right now there is really no timeline.

11:28 I've been to a few different doctors who have looked over my scans.

11:31 I don't have any issues.

11:32 I feel great, but I broke my C1 in two different places.

11:37 It's called a Jefferson fracture, and because of the nature of the fracture, it takes longer

11:41 to heal.

11:42 I'm trying to make the best decision for myself and my health going forward."
