00:00 Okay, we're up in the sky here.

00:02 That tells me how high I am.

00:04 I'm at 1,800 feet above sea level.

00:08 This one's the speed.

00:09 I'm doing roundabout 100 miles an hour.

00:11 I'm just cruising along.

00:13 The torque's about 70%.

00:15 That's the compass that's linked in to the autopilot system.

00:20 We can turn it on for a second.

00:23 Now the autopilot's flying.

00:25 I can let go of everything.

00:27 Here we've got how fast the rotors are going round on the top.

00:31 Here we've got temperatures and pressures and the amount of fuel we've got.

00:35 We're currently at nearly 2,000 foot up in the sky.

00:39 The clouds are roundabout 2,500 foot.

00:43 [Rotors whirring]

01:09 Bell 206 jet helicopter.

01:12 It's about 39 foot long.

01:14 It's about 10 and a half foot high.

01:16 It's got a huge blade on the back that stops the whole machine from rotating.

01:21 Because that blade on the top there, that starts going round one way.

01:25 You've got to have something at the back that counters that all the way round.

01:30 Now this machine will fly up to 20,000 foot, but you'd need some oxygen up there.

01:36 And it'll also fly at roundabout 140 to 150 miles an hour.

01:40 Come inside and I'll show you how it starts.

01:43 The collective going up and down, that makes the helicopter go up and down.

01:49 This here is the cyclic, and you go from side to side, backwards and forwards.

01:55 That amount of movement there will make this helicopter shoot to the left or right.

02:00 And let's fire it up.

02:02 I'm going to press this button here and things start happening really quickly.

02:06 You can see it going up 15%.

02:09 I'm going to ignite the fuel in about five more seconds.

02:19 The generator's on.

02:20 We can turn on the collision lights.

02:22 We can put in the power section.

02:24 We can put in the fuel pump.

02:26 And everything's coming alive.

02:29 We're now powering up to 100%.
