Malaysia will continue to collaborate with the Arab League and the Organisation for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to monitor developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said that on Friday (Oct 27) when asked whether Malaysia would boycott the United Nations (UN) following the UN Security Council's (UNSC) decision to reject a resolution proposed by Russia that called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
00:00 What is your response to the UNSC's decision to ban the Palestinian conflict?
00:08 We don't care about other decisions, but our decision is that the rights of the Palestinians must be given.
00:16 We must protect our land, our assets, our dignity. But the immediate action must be to stop the attacks and to provide humanitarian aid. That is our priority now.
00:31 Is there any threat to boycott the UNSC, the UNDP and the Arab League?
00:37 We are working with the UNSC and the Arab League. We have a long-term development agreement. But the priority is to stop the attacks and provide humanitarian aid. That is the priority for the Muslim country.
00:53 We will continue to work together. But we will immediately provide humanitarian aid, food and medical care.
01:06 President Fatah Sisi has promised that he will provide food aid from the government.
01:17 The UNSC has denied that it is restricting Malaysian content supporting Palestine.
01:25 They have denied, but we will have to continue to monitor.
01:29 Is the UNSC decision final?
01:32 We will see. It is too early to decide.
