Everton Football Club Chairman Bill Kenwright has died aged 78. The club paid tribute and said he passed away peacefully on Monday night, "surrounded by his family and loved ones". A lifelong Evertonian, he was also an acclaimed West End theatre and film producer.

£37,202 is being spent to get escalators back in service at Moorfields train station. Despite being at the entrance of the Merseyrail station, the maintenance of the escalators is the responsibility of the city council. It is expected the work will take up to a month to complete.

13 World War One servicemen will be honoured on Friday when their names are added to the Roll of Honour at Liverpool Town Hall. Special civic receptions for the families of those being added to the plaques will be hosted by the Lord Mayor.
