00:00 >> Single subject spending bills.
00:02 >> Yeah, sure.
00:03 >> How did you think it went in there?
00:04 Do you think that there will be candidates that make it to 17?
00:07 >> Well, I thought our candidates did a great job.
00:09 I was most heartened by those who wanted
00:11 to advance single subject spending bills rather
00:14 than link disparate issues like Ukraine funding
00:17 and Israel funding together.
00:19 But there was a unifying moment we had on the last question
00:22 that I was honored to ask.
00:23 I asked which of the candidates would support the prompt full release
00:26 of the January 6th tapes to the public.
00:28 And every single one of the candidates said they would do that.
00:31 So if nothing else, this process will bring about that outcome
00:35 that we were not able to obtain from the prior speaker.
00:37 >> Do you think we're going to have a speaker tomorrow night?
00:38 >> We could.
00:40 We might.
00:41 We might. We had some great candidates in there.
00:42 And we'll go from this current group down to our designee.
00:45 And I hope it's a productive endeavor.
00:47 >> Have you decided on a candidate?
00:49 >> You're a hard no on.
00:50 Somebody you can't support after a week of your time.
00:52 >> There might be one or two who had plans
00:54 that I think were pretty inconsistent
00:56 with where I think Republicans can go if we want to be a fighting force.
00:59 But I'd say by and large, we had really great candidates.
01:02 And I'm pretty confident that the person
01:04 that comes out will be able to put it together.
01:06 >> Who are those one or two?
01:08 >> I don't believe I said.
01:09 Any other questions?
01:10 >> Yeah. You talked about single subject spending bills.
01:13 >> Yes.
01:14 >> Kevin Hearn has a plan that would basically do a CR
01:16 for the two hardest of the spending bills.
01:18 Is that a non-starter for you?
01:19 >> Well, Kevin Hearn, you know, really laid out in his messaging
01:23 to all the members a critique of governing
01:25 by continuing resolution and omnibus bill.
01:28 And he has a plan to get us to those single subject spending bills.
01:31 If we have to bridge with the continuing resolution,
01:34 that wouldn't be my preference.
01:35 But we're certainly looking to go in the same direction.
01:37 I would also note that Congressman Mike Johnson had a plan
01:40 for single subject spending bills that was also quite attractive.
01:44 Great. Thanks, guys.
01:45 >> Are there certain candidates who said they'd like support?
01:47 >> Come on.
