Meet the North Edinburgh Dodgeball team hoping to build a winning team this year

An Edinburgh youth dodgeball team, with dreams of entering a national competition at the end of the year, are on the lookout for new recruits ahead of the upcoming tournament.

00:02 Ever since I started playing I've loved the sport and I've really enjoyed it.

00:18 So really the whole thing with starting this was just to introduce it to a new generation

00:24 and try and build up the sport in Scotland, get some youngsters playing

00:28 and hopefully get some people to develop a love of the sport and help it to grow

00:32 and help it to keep growing in Scotland.

00:34 We need a minimum of six players to be able to enter a team in the Open.

00:43 Ideally we'd get eight and the more players we can get, the more practice people we get,

00:48 the more they can play proper games and learn about the sport, playing six v six on court.

00:53 So it would be really good if there's anyone who thinks they themselves or their child

01:00 might want to come and give it a go, that would be really fantastic and we'd love to see them.

01:29 We've got, we're probably going to get secure some funding or sponsorship for kits

01:34 so we'll be there in our fully custom kits competing against the rest of the teams in Scotland.

01:40 It'll make us the third or fourth established youth club in Scotland,

01:45 established junior dodgeball club, which is, well it's not first or second

01:50 but it's still reasonably historic in the numbers and hopefully from that the sport will grow.

01:55 But it'll be a really proud moment to watch, to see the teams play,

02:00 from the moment they line up to take the first team photograph.

02:03 So no matter how we play, I'll be really proud to see the team get to play

02:07 and play against quality opposition in Scotland.
