00:11 We had a really challenging obstacle course, an incredible hill climb, we had rollovers
00:16 and flops and at the end of the day we put the guys to the test at the mini Rubicon.

00:29 The Olympics of 4x4s ends tomorrow.
00:32 This is one of the most extreme, most challenging, most awesome 4x4 courses in existence and
00:39 this is the finish line.
00:40 So to get here, these guys are going to have to be prepared.
00:43 That right there, hole 7, probably 5 or 6 feet deep.
00:47 There's 6 more holes that lie beyond there before they can even get to that hole to winch
00:51 out and get to the top.
00:53 So day 4, top truck challenge is the tank trap.
00:59 As you can see, the mini Rubicon is a man-made course that we make extremely difficult.
01:04 We take the largest boulders that we can find and stack them on top of each other to make
01:08 a giant rock wall.
01:10 So there's giant holes right before that rock wall.
01:13 It's an obstacle that will test not only short wheel base rigs but long wheel base rigs.
01:19 It doesn't matter what size your tires are, you will get stuck.
01:22 Very few people make it across the finish line.
01:24 It's going to take a worn winch or Mickey Thompson tires and max tie downs to get you
01:29 over the end of the course.
01:33 One of the best things about the hill climb is 4 wheels are never on the ground.
01:38 You need big horsepower, lots of suspension flex.
01:41 What doesn't translate in the video is just how steep the hill climb is.
01:44 It consists of a course laid out over several hundred yards at slopes of up to 60 degrees.
01:50 Not only is it steep, but we've used an excavator to dig out opposite moguls to keep the suspension
01:56 flexing and the vehicles off of all four tires.

02:10 This year we changed the direction of the course and we added some giant holes that
02:33 were about 6 to 7 feet deep and filled them with water.
02:36 It's a challenge that is a precursor to tank trap and will really test all the driveline
02:41 components of your vehicle.
02:43 All the way from engine to axles to suspension, quality of your weld and chassis.
02:48 It's a really brutal test that really puts all of these vehicles to the limit.
