00:17 I'm the editor-in-chief of Motor Train.
00:19 I'm here in the brand new 2015 Tesla P90D.
00:24 This is the all-wheel drive sports sedan from Tesla.
00:28 It has a 90 kilowatt hour battery, two motors,
00:33 and has this new feature called autopilot,
00:36 which I want to show you right now in about 40 seconds.
00:39 OK, so right now I am driving.
00:40 My foot is on the gas pedal.
00:42 My hand is on the wheel.
00:43 And I'm doing something very dangerous
00:45 that Tesla really wants people to stop doing,
00:47 which is messing with their phones while they drive.
00:50 So what I'm going to do is set the cruise control
00:52 by toggling up on the lever, which
00:54 activates the cruise control.
00:55 I just did that right over here.
00:57 And then I'm going to pull back twice
00:59 to set the autopilot system.
01:02 And what I got is a blue steering wheel
01:05 on the right-hand side of the speedo.
01:07 And it shows me that we're set currently
01:09 at about 86 miles an hour, which is too fast.
01:11 So I'm going to slow it down by just toggling the speed down
01:15 as you would on a normal cruise control lever.
01:18 So let me show you these controls.
01:22 They're over here.
01:23 Oops, now we're going way too slow.
01:24 OK, so here's the lever.
01:27 And this is me doing the speed control.
01:31 Now again, if I wanted to set it,
01:33 I would just push up and then double-tap back
01:37 to turn on the autopilot system.
01:39 The vehicle display is showing me the road lines
01:41 as it sees it and any traffic or anything around it.
01:44 And it's not showing anything because there's only
01:47 a truck behind me.
01:48 So that's it.
01:49 I'm not driving.
01:50 I'm not steering.
01:51 One thing I should show you is how to change lanes.
01:54 So I just hit the turn signal, and the car actually
02:01 changes lanes for you.
02:03 So let me do that again.
02:04 Let me show you.
02:05 Hit the turn signal.
02:08 Oops, wrong way.
02:10 That was a good test.
02:11 Now you see how we just changed lanes?
02:15 There you go.
02:16 One more time.
02:17 I'm going to go left.
02:23 And we're done.
02:24 And I'm going to go right.

02:34 So that was about a minute and a half longer
02:38 than I thought it would be.
02:39 So that's about two and a half minutes
02:40 driving the Tesla P90D in autopilot mode.
