Chipotle Explores Automation for Online Orders

The robot technology would only be used to assemble digital orders, not orders made in person at the restaurant. The robot technology assembles digital orders for bowls and salads, freeing employees to focus on in-person orders and packaging the completed orders. Many restaurant chains are investing in automation but the technology is still expensive, so it may be years before it significantly pays off financially for companies like Chipotle.
