00:00StubHub, the nation's largest ticket exchange and resale provider, will pay $10 million to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that
00:08it deceptively advertised ticket prices without clearly disclosing all mandatory fees up front.
00:13The FTC alleged that StubHub opportunistically delayed full compliance with its new fee rules, which went into effect in May
00:222025, to capitalize on the NFL releasing its 2025 season schedule that same week, calling it a 99th percentile traffic
00:31event.
00:32As part of the settlement, StubHub will be required to revamp how it displays ticket prices and is now prohibited
00:39from misrepresenting the total cost of any transaction.
00:42Consumers who purchased tickets on StubHub between May 12th and 14th of last year may be eligible for a full
00:49or partial refund of fees paid.
00:51The case comes as the FTC separately sued Ticketmaster and parent company Live Nation last fall for illegal ticket resale
00:59tactics, signaling a broader crackdown on the live events industry.
