00:00 Enchanted Kingdom celebrates 28 years of creating magical moments for kids and like myself kids at heart
00:07 What else is in store for guests of the amusement park?
00:10 Enchanted Kingdom's Nico Mamon joins us now live in the studio. Happy anniversary, Nico
00:17 Thank you Rico and Mabuhay magical evening to everyone. Wow
00:20 28 years, that's right. What has Enchanted Kingdom achieved over the past three decades?
00:28 I think we have achieved quite a lot
00:31 Given the fact that you know, we've survived a pandemic
00:35 We've gone through economic downturn, but we're still here really making magical experiences and providing that to the Filipinos
00:42 Plus the fact that we're a proud Filipino company. Mmm. I think that's something that we're able to bring an escape
00:48 to our Filipino guests
00:51 And until now it's so multi-generational that like what you mentioned
00:56 We used to enjoy Enchanted Kingdom when we were younger and to this point where it's actually our kids and the next generation
01:02 Who's really making those enchanted stories with us?
01:05 All right
01:05 And of course, I also spoke with your father during the pandemic Mario
01:11 And of course, they are the cornerstones together with your mom. That's right, Cynthia the
01:16 foundations of Enchanted Kingdom
01:18 What have you learned together with your three other siblings about running this amusement park business?
01:26 well, I think it's it's you know, really applying the core values of Enchanted Kingdom on how we also
01:33 Work with the family, right? It's really focusing on love of God
01:37 respect integrity
01:40 you know loyalty and
01:43 Innovation which is important for this industry. So those things are something that we actually
01:48 talk about as a family and
01:51 Given the fact that Enchanted Kingdom our culture is really about it's a very familial environment as well
01:57 So it's not just our immediate family
01:59 It's also how we treat our cast members is our employees is how we look after our guests and really provide them those
02:05 Magical experience and of course you and your siblings belong to the millennial and Gen Z
02:11 Generation your parents are from the baby boomers way back in the 50s and 60s
02:17 So, how do you meet halfway in terms of new ideas and innovations?
02:23 From day one 28 years ago to now the 28th year
02:27 I think what we learned learn, you know working with our you know, our parents is that
02:33 We listen right we we really look back and see where and how Enchanted Kingdom started
02:40 Looking at back at this 28 years and seeing how we can improve it together
02:45 I think humility is also very important and listening would be another crucial thing and not just with the
02:50 family business, but also
02:53 with our other employees because
02:56 With the intention of listening you're able to really work together and collaborate and I think that's something we've probably
03:01 We've been doing as a family, right?
03:04 So as much as we all have been given the opportunity to actually work outside the business and then now apply all of these experiences
03:12 to Enchanted Kingdom, which hopefully really provides us that
03:17 Enhancement in service guest experience and how we look after our get our well the family that works together succeeds together. So
03:25 How different is?
03:28 Enchanted Kingdom, let's say for example Niko ten years ago to what it is today
03:33 what new ideas and innovations have been injected into the amusement park and
03:38 that makes the
03:42 The Enchanted Kingdom still attractive to many people. That's right. I think it's it's the innovation part
03:48 That's part of our core core value as Enchanted Kingdom. We're always out there searching for the next
03:54 attraction
03:56 Next big ride the next big ride and we always really look at the best practices from you know
04:01 The major international theme parks as well
04:03 And I think that's very crucial when you you understand also what type of guests you have and of course
04:10 Understanding what the Filipino market wants. Yes
04:12 Filipino market might want something else 20 years ago, but now they might something they might you know
04:19 Enjoy a wet ride or a more thrilling roller coaster
04:22 So it's really that social listening part and understanding who the market is how they adapt and how the preference change
04:29 Especially with the different generations. So we we keep in mind that every time
04:34 We have our strategic planning or we discuss things like this
04:38 We always listen to our customer number one number two are always open to innovation
04:43 So maybe digitizing how things are booked so even during the pandemic
04:48 of course
04:50 Online stores were very popular
04:52 So we actually launched our Enchanted Kingdom online store where you can book your tickets very conveniently, but it's still a very personal
04:58 The second part is at the same time you can actually buy your merchandise
05:03 Online right and so it's it's basically a one-stop shop of understanding everything about Enchanted Kingdom
05:08 Well during the pandemic, I mean we saw the acceleration of the digital platform
05:13 Yes, and up until today, that's great. A lot of our cababayans are using that platform
05:18 So tell us this is your anniversary month. What surprises?
05:24 Do you have in store for our cababayans who will be visiting Enchanted Kingdom?
05:29 Yeah, so actually Enchanted Kingdom will be celebrating our 28th year anniversary
05:34 The actual date is October 19. You know, we want to make it fun. We want to make it magical and enchanting for everyone
05:41 So the theme of this anniversary celebration is called. What's your enchanted story?
05:46 We've been very fortunate that we've been part of most of our
05:50 Most of Filipinos childhood experiences. They probably had their first date their first field trip. Yeah, that's right
05:59 Maybe you never know, you know the first time you brought your family there to a theme park
06:04 So those are the stories that we want to really capture. Yeah and bring back because there's so much nostalgia
06:09 With Enchanted Kingdom and with the Filipino guests. So that's really the focus of of the theme for this year's at celebration
06:17 Well, that will be exciting for a lot of our cababayans who love and enjoy amusement parks
06:23 But of course taking a look at the flip side and on the business as a whole you've been
06:28 In existence for 28 years. Are there plans to expand outside of of
06:34 the national capital region
06:37 Outside of Santa Rosa Laguna into the city of Visayas and Mindanao
06:41 Well, I think that's something that we always consider I would say and something that we discuss but for the meantime
06:48 I think the focus that we have is really after the pandemic is to enhance the park
06:52 I mean after 20 and expand the park, that's right. So enhance the park
06:56 Make sure that we are able to really refurbish and you know
07:00 It feels brand new and as much as possible in facilities and experiences
07:03 Digitize most of our guest experiences as well
07:07 And thirdly really we're planning to also open a new retail and dining experience
07:13 So this is really integrating it. Enchanted Kingdom is now more than just a theme park, right?
07:18 So you have attractions you have food you have merchandise but opening this retail and dining outlet
07:24 Which will be in December and we will all in time for the Christmas holidays perfect timing
07:29 so it definitely will be something that we can give us a Christmas gift also to the Filipino people because
07:35 It's not just a theme park now, but you can also even enjoy enchanting them even when the park is closed. Well, congratulations
07:41 On the success of enchanted kingdom and happy anniversary to you your siblings and to your mom and dad
07:47 Cynthia and Mario mamon and Nico great to have you with us on the final word
07:52 Thank You Rico, and hopefully we get to see you in October. So
07:56 To celebrate our 28th year anniversary. All right, Nico mamon of
08:00 enchanted kingdom
