00:07The ICC arrest warrant against Bato de la Rosa lists his role in Duterte's drug war.
00:12Senator Tito Soto clarifies he was informed about the arrest warrant for Bato de la Rosa,
00:17but he did not know the senator would be at the Senate that day.
00:20The ICT chief Henry Aguda denies a report he had resigned.
00:24And US President Donald Trump says the Iran ceasefire is on life support.
00:36Senator Ronald Bato de la Rosa appeals to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
00:41not to carry out the warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court.
00:47De la Rosa is subject of the ICC warrant after he was found to be allegedly criminally liable for crimes
00:53against humanity.
00:54He tells Marcos to understand his situation.
01:14The senator said in 2025 he was not afraid of an ICC warrant.
01:18He added then that if he were arrested, it would allow him to take care of former President Rodrigo Duterte
01:23in the ICC facility.
01:25But it seems he is no longer willing to follow Duterte to The Hague.
01:29When asked how he feels about his possible arrest, he says,
01:35De la Rosa has been absent from the Senate for months after Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Boing Remulia said an ICC
01:41warrant had been issued against him.
01:43He appeared on Monday, May 11, to support the election of his ally, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, as the new
01:48Senate president.
01:51The International Criminal Court issues an arrest warrant against Sen. Ronald Bato de la Rosa over his alleged involvement in
01:58the war on drugs.
01:59The warrant states the court found reasonable grounds to believe de la Rosa committed the crime against humanity of murder.
02:05It was issued by the ICC pretrial chamber in November 2025 and unsealed on Monday, May 11, after de la
02:11Rosa was chased by the NBI at the Senate.
02:14The ICC prosecution described the warrant as an important step in the ongoing pursuit of accountability for killings linked to
02:21the anti-drug campaign.
02:22The warrant details de la Rosa's role in the drug war, such as that he knew about the operations and
02:27their scope, created a network of perpetrators, and controlled a structure of power.
02:32He also allegedly pushed messaging that implementation entailed the commission of crimes and threatened the ICC, fueled disinformation, and risked
02:40victims' security.
02:42Senate Minority Leader Tito Soto says the National Bureau of Investigation informed him a day earlier about the arrest warrant
02:49for Sen. Bato de la Rosa.
02:50But he says he was not aware nor informed that de la Rosa would be at the Senate on Monday,
02:55May 11.
02:56Little did I know that, you know, Sen. de la Rosa, after seven months of not being here, will suddenly
03:03come.
03:05Kaya ganun ka-simple lang yung sinabi ko.
03:07Coordinate with the OSA.
03:09They know the rules.
03:10Soto adds, had he known that de la Rosa was finally showing up after a months-long absence, he would
03:15have had a different perspective.
03:17He also says, when the criminal investigation and detection group earlier subpoenaed de la Rosa, the document was served only
03:23to his office.
03:24He expects the same process to be followed since he did not know de la Rosa would be at the
03:28Senate on Monday.
03:29Soto says he had to make the clarification as he's being portrayed as someone who had allowed the NBI to
03:34barge into the Senate to carry out the arrest.
03:36He also notes, when then-Senators Laila de Lima and Antonio Trillanes were served warrants in the past, they surrendered
03:42to the authorities who came to the Senate.
03:46Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda denies rumors of his resignation.
03:51Aguda says,
03:52I deny the false reports and speculations that I have resigned from my position as Secretary of the DICT.
03:58He claims the agency has been steadfast in its efforts to combat disinformation and the spread of fake news.
04:03Billionario News Channel earlier reported Aguda's resignation, citing two sources.
04:08The post has since been taken down.
04:09Rumors surfaced after the DICT was criticized over outages and issues in the eGovPH app and the National IDE Verify
04:17platform.
04:18Officials claimed this was due to a surge of users and insufficient back-end infrastructure along with alleged budget issues.
04:25Nag-tipid po kami ng resources. Kung ano po yung natipid namin sa cloud services namin, yun po yung ginamit
04:30po namin po nang nilaunch po yung Digital National ID.
04:33Senator Bam Aquino replied, saying,
04:35Clearly, that's not acceptable.
04:38U.S. President Donald Trump says the ceasefire with Iran is on life support.
04:43Trump also rejects Iran's response to the U.S.'s peace proposal for talks to end the war, calling it a
04:48piece of garbage.
04:50Iran had called for an end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, where U.S. ally Israel is
04:54fighting Iran-backed Hezbollah militants.
04:57Iran also demanded compensation for war damage, an end to the U.S. naval blockade, and its sovereignty over the
05:03Strait of Hormuz.
05:04But Trump says Iran's response threatens the status of a ceasefire that has been set since April 7.
05:09He says the response is the weakest right now and claims he didn't even finish reading it.
05:13The U.S. proposed an end to the war but did not include talks on more contentious issues like Iran's
05:18nuclear program.
05:19Meantime, Tehran remains firm in its stance.
05:22Iran's parliament speaker, Mohamed Baquer Khalibaf, also says its armed forces are ready to respond when he acts of aggression.
