The Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Thursday (September 21) visited the National Wildlife Rescue Centre (NWRC) in Sungkai, Perak.  His Majesty was accompanied by the Sultan of Perak and the Regent of Pahang in the visit, which began at about 11.30am. 00:37 the Wildlife Conservation Initiatives for Malayan Tigers, Sun Bears, Gau and Tabir.

00:44 The Centre serves as a temporary settlement of seized wildlife under the International

00:50 Trade in Endangered Species Act 2008. It also focuses on tiger conservation activities such

00:58 as rescue operations, rehabilitation, disease treatment and control, as well as research

01:04 and breeding using the latest technology. Pahilitan aims to increase the Malayan tiger

01:10 population to 400 in the next 10 years, from the current count of about 150.
