00:03 - The Longhorns knock off Alabama marks
00:05 at 0-34-24 in Bryant-Denny on Saturday.
00:09 Texas winning outright as a seven point road underdog,
00:13 handing Nick Saban his first double digit home loss
00:17 in his 17 years as the head coach of the Crimson Tide,
00:22 snapping a 57 game win streak for Alabama
00:26 in non-conference regular season games.
00:29 Zeno, these two teams played each other last year in Austin.
00:33 Texas took Alabama to the brink,
00:35 but Alabama escaped courtesy of Bryce Young,
00:38 winning by just a single point.
00:40 What did Texas do this time around
00:43 to beat Alabama in their own home stadium?
00:45 - Well, look, credit to the Longhorns and C.Sarkeesian.
00:49 They put together a great game plan.
00:51 They executed it well.
00:53 They were able to score on a defense.
00:55 And I'm surprised at how bad
00:57 the Alabama secondary really was.
00:59 I mean, we heard all about Kool-Aid, McKinstry.
01:01 It's a great name, but he played like Tang, not Kool-Aid.
01:04 I don't know, what was the drink of the receiver?
01:07 But regardless, he didn't play well.
01:09 And the secondary kind of got torched.
01:12 On the offensive side of the ball for Bama guys,
01:14 I know you talked about making Jaylin Milroy better,
01:16 but here's the other part of this.
01:18 Like Alabama, as much as it has a quarterback problem,
01:21 it has a wide receiver problem.
01:23 Calvin Ridley, Jamison Williams, Jaylin Waddell,
01:25 none of those guys are on this roster anymore.
01:28 And because they're not,
01:30 now you're dependent on your quarterback
01:32 to make them better.
01:33 And that's just not happening at this point in time.
01:35 I mean, if they had better receivers,
01:37 guys who were uncoverable like Alabama's had
01:39 for the better part of the last decade,
01:41 I think the offense looks a little bit different.
01:43 But because they don't,
01:45 it's all on Jaylin Milroy's shoulders.
01:47 And that makes things a little bit difficult
01:49 for this Alabama offense.
01:50 So yeah, I give a ton of credit to Texas.
01:53 I'm not gonna say they're back.
01:55 Go on the road in the Big 12 and win games there
01:58 and let me know how that works out.
02:00 I mean, when they get to 10 or 11 wins,
02:04 then I'll say that because what have we seen
02:05 so many years in a row from Texas?
02:07 They look good, they look good,
02:08 and flop and then double flop.
02:10 And next thing you know,
02:11 they're playing not even in a New Year's Six Bowl
02:14 in some sort of other bowl
02:15 that isn't really all that important.
