Police are on the hunt for a modern-day "Bonnie and Clyde" couple who allegedly attacked and robbed two elderly taxi drivers in Sabah's east coast Lahad Datu district.

00:13 In an incident that occurred on Friday, the couple, believed to be in their 30s and of
00:18 Indonesian nationality, boarded a taxi driven by a 67-year-old man at a town hotel at 6.30
00:25 a.m.
00:26 They requested to be taken to Jalan Segama.
00:29 While being driven, the couple pulled out a knife and demanded the driver surrender
00:34 his money.
00:35 Lahad Datu Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Dr. Rohan Shah Ahmad said that the driver
00:40 managed to escape from the vehicle but was eventually knocked down by his assailants
00:45 who commanded the taxi before fleeing.
00:49 Police later found the taxi abandoned on Jalan Putatan.
00:53 In an earlier incident at 4.30 a.m. on Thursday, a 75-year-old taxi driver was also robbed
00:59 in the back alley of a bank in Lahad Datu.
01:03 ACP Rohan said the police have obtained CCTV footage of the suspects and the case is currently
01:08 being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed gang robbery.
