00:13 today's buyers are millennial and Gen Z shoppers and they are more likely than
00:18 other generations to consider a climate risk when deciding where to buy a home.
00:23 A Zillow senior population scientist said quote while all generations
00:28 juggled trade-offs like budget, floor plans, and commute times, younger home
00:32 shoppers are more likely to face another consideration. They want to know if their
00:37 home will be safe from rising waters, extreme temperatures, and wildfires. The
00:42 study found that the region where prospective buyers are most considerate
00:45 about such risk is the West where 90% of those surveyed reported they consider it.
00:50 The data comes from Zillow's consumer housing trends report which surveyed
00:54 nearly 12,000 prospective homebuyers between April and July.
