00:00 your top tips for writing a speech for a funeral? So for a funeral I think this is
00:06 where practice comes in really really critically because you are going to be
00:12 very emotional on the day itself so for me the more you practice and I've done
00:19 quite a lot of funeral eulogies the more that you practice that speech the more
00:23 it's it takes the sting out of the parts of the speech that trigger your emotions
00:28 the most read it out read it out again and read it out again read it out when
00:33 you're driving in your car read it out when you're in the shower read it out in
00:38 your head in the queue at the supermarket and the first few times you
00:42 do that or maybe even you know the first five times you do it there'll be points
00:46 in the speech that will make you cry but if you practice the more you practice
00:51 that will get out of your system and leave you more composed on the day
00:56 itself. I think the other thing when you are looking at funeral speeches is to
01:02 try and make it as inclusive as possible so if you may have an array of memories
01:08 of this person you want to draw upon I would probably choose the ones that will
01:13 resonate the most with the attendees of the funeral and that will make it even
01:18 more special rather than relaying memories I guess that fewer people can
01:23 relate to.
