Danny Hall and Chris Holt discuss the return of Chris Wilder who is back as boss for his third spell in charge of his boyhood club
Transcript
00:00is it is it a matter of just bringing in a bit of belief because i mean on paper the
00:06this squad is taught at very least top six squad isn't it in the championship
00:12yeah 100 i mean it was pretty noticeable for me that the the statement that the owners made
00:19on bringing chris back mentioned promotion you know there was no um acceptance that this season
00:25is being written off you know there's no waving the white flag or thinking you know we're thinking
00:29next season or the season after that you know they still believe that there's a chance this season
00:34they've given themselves a hell of a lot to do is what i will say but like you say you're right you
00:38look at that team sheet on friday night and you look at the players who weren't in it you know your gus
00:43harmers and your tyrese campbells and the other players who were on the bench you know you forget
00:48that chris is coming in now to a team that two weeks ago was signed four players on deadline day
00:54for ruben sellers so he's coming in now with you know somebody else's sort of new players to add to
01:00the ones he already had you know so he has to sort of make decisions on players pretty quickly
01:06um yeah i think it's just about putting a bit of belief back in the players a bit of confidence and
01:11just bringing a bit of respect to respect back to this football club because you know this season so
01:16far has been a shambles there's no two ways about it i think obviously ruben has paid the price for
01:22this job but i think you know that's always what happens in cases like this isn't it but i think the
01:27players have got to have a look at themselves in the mirror as well because they're the ones who go out
01:31there and carry out whether they have reservations about how they've been prepared or the way they've
01:36been set up they're the ones who can go out and affect it um so i think they've got to
01:41to have a look at themselves in the mirror as well um yeah i think this is a a move i think it'll
01:50dramatically change the mood on saturday i think if ruben sellers have still been in charge
01:55for this weekend's game against charlton at prom the lane the atmosphere could have been
01:59very interesting i think it will be interesting still but for very different reasons now i think the
02:03mood will be lifted by the return of chris wilder um and he'll just be looking now i guess
02:10to just put a bit of respectability back into this football club you know get the players back
02:16firing and battling first and foremost probably get square pegs back in square holes rather than
02:22the round ones that ruben sellers have been putting them in um whether he does go back to
02:26the shape he used last season and the style last season remains to be seen because it is a different
02:31setup whether he tries to to reinvent things again or reverts the type we'll have to wait and see
02:38um but i think yeah my immediate sort of reaction is that it's a it's an appointment that hopefully
02:44will bring a bit more sheffield identity back to this club because that's something that was completely
02:51lost this season uh even though ruben sellers the few times that i asked him about it he didn't agree
02:57he didn't believe that this squad had lost its identity i'm not sure what he thought the identity was
03:03because you know you watched it and thousands of other fans watched it and nobody was really sure
03:09but i think under chris you know whether the results come quickly whether it takes a bit of
03:14time i think one thing that we can guarantee is that we will know what his teams look like
03:18we'll know what chef united team looks like under chris wilder and that after the first
03:23six games of the season i think is a very important thing
