Transcript
00:00 I remember as a really small kid I got this yellow desk and loads of colouring pencils
00:07 and it was my favourite, favourite thing in the world.
00:10 I don't remember ever not painting or drawing or just generally making a mess.
00:15 I never was growing up thinking, "Oh, I'm going to grow up and be an artist."
00:19 It's quite hard work painting murals.
00:24 I think it's more physical than people would imagine.
00:28 I love painting those organic forms that are delicate and fragile in amongst the harshness
00:35 of the urban setting.
00:39 So I isolate the flower from the photo and then digitally manipulate them and play around
00:44 with composition and edit colours and slice them up, chop them around a bit to come up
00:49 with a design.
00:53 I use the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, which is great because it's got a massive screen,
00:59 it's super vibrant, but also they're really lightweight so I can easily take it out and
01:04 about with me on jobs.
01:07 The S Pen is really good for getting those precise details and editing accurately.
01:14 From painting flowers on the street in the public, I just realised how they're just so
01:19 cheerful and actually they bring joy and the amount of people that stop and chat to me
01:24 and say, "Oh, this has really brightened up my commute," or "This has put a smile on my
01:28 face today."
01:29 So I think that's why I continue now to paint flowers because if you add a bit of positivity
01:35 and joy in the world, that's a good thing.
