Birmingham headlines 21 August: Man shot inside shop as police launch manhunt
A man was shot inside a shop in Holyhead Road on Friday evening close to the Hawthorns stadium. A man has been taken to hospital following the incident. It's been said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police are now trying to locate the shooter.

West Midlands Police are looking for two people after two girls were assaulted in Birmingham city centre. The incident took place at Grand Central in April. The CCTV image is not clear but the two individuals are dressed in black from head to toe.

Train drivers in the West Midlands are set to strike in September. Members of the RMT trade union, representing senior conductors, have now announced strike action on Friday, 1 September and action short of a strike the day after on Saturday, 2 September.
