Students celebrate successful A-Level results day

Three students from Sixth Forms in Bury St Edmunds have spoken of their successful A-Levels results and future university plans.

00:00 So I just got my A-level results, I've managed to get an A* in Maths, an A in Physics and an A in

00:06 Computer Science, which means I do get to go to my chosen university, Southampton, to study Physics

00:11 with Mathematics. So I've gotten two A*s in Maths and Physics and two A's in Chemistry and Further

00:20 Maths and that was perfect for my requirements. I had applied to Cambridge University, I've got an

00:27 offer and I just needed to get an A* in Maths and an A* in either Further Maths or Physics and you

00:34 know now that I've gotten in it's an ecstatic feeling, it's absolutely amazing. I've just got

00:39 my A-level results where I've got four A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry and

00:46 I'm off to Durham which is my first choice to study Maths next year, so I'm very happy.

00:51 I didn't check anything before coming here and I turned off my email notification so I couldn't

00:56 see it, I was going completely blind and I'm happy with what I got. I'd have to say that

01:02 it is a special, it's particularly special being the you know the last Covid kind of years that you

01:09 know we didn't do exams for GCSE but now we've had to do exams for A-level, so it was a bit

01:15 difficult in that regard and you know there's always the stress of everything else as well

01:19 and you do have your doubts but I'm just glad that you know we're out here now,

01:23 I have the grades, I've done amazing and I'm going forward in my life. At Cambridge I'm going to be

01:28 doing Engineering and hopefully you know I go on to do Aerospace Engineering from there, so I'm just

01:33 gleeful.
