A total of six passengers and two flight crew members were on board the light aircraft which crashed near the Elmina township in Selangor on Thursday (Aug 17) afternoon, says the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).

00:00 Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia CEO Captain Dato' Norazman Mahmud said the aircraft that crashed on a highway near the Elmina township in Selangor on Thursday was bound for the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.
00:14 He said the Beechcraft Model 390 with the registration number N28JV was operated by Jet Valley Sindoran Bahad and it departed from Langkawi International Airport at 2.08pm.
00:28 He said the first contact made by the aircraft with the Subang Air Traffic Control Tower was at 2.47pm.
00:41 A landing clearance was given at 2.48pm but the control tower observed smoke originating from the crash site at 2.51pm. No Mayday call was made before the crash.
00:54 Norazman said the Kuala Lumpur Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre had been activated to coordinate the search and rescue mission.
01:03 A total of six passengers and two flight crew were on board and their conditions have yet to be confirmed at press time.
