00:00 On Wednesday, in Brazil, delegations participated in the fourth Amazon Summit, arrived to take
00:05 part in the second and final day of the event being held in Belém.
00:10 According to the schedule of the environmental summit, leaders of the eight countries that
00:14 make up the Amazonian Cooperation Treaty will dialogue with the leaders of nations that
00:18 have rainforests in other regions to begin a process of building coordinated positions
00:24 that will be taken to multilateral negotiations on environmental issues.
00:28 On Tuesday, the Amazonian countries agreed in the so-called Belém Declaration to establish
00:34 an alliance to combat deforestation among states and strengthen cooperation.
00:39 Such a coalition seeks to promote regional cooperation in combating deforestation and
00:44 prevent the Amazon from reaching the point of no return, recognizing and promoting the
00:49 fulfillment of national goals, including zero deforestation.
