00:31 a cooking demonstration competition where the different flavors of the cooked Maranao are presented.
00:37 According to Lanao del Sur Provincial Tourism Officer, Amad Noraldin Tamano Jr.,
00:42 the activity was designed to promote the Maranao culture penorship.
00:46 The beautiful culture of Maranao and the different talents of the local cooks in the province were highlighted here.
00:53 18 towns participated in the competition, including Balabagan, Balindong, Binidayan,
00:59 Boadipo, Subuntung, Bubong, Kapay, Kapatagan, Lumbabayabao, Lumbatan, Madalong, Marantau,
01:05 Masho, Piagapo, Pualas, Sagiaran, Sultan Dumalundong, Taraca, and Tugaya.
01:11 In the dishes presented, the beef randang and chicken piaparan are the most popular and caught the taste of the majority.
01:18 The beef randang is the culture and tradition of the Maranao.
01:24 All the events that are happening here, like the Idal-Adha, Idal-Fita, Akika, even though there is camping, the beef is still there.
01:35 The Provincial Tourism Officer was amazed after witnessing the competition of the traditional and modern way of cooking of the Maranao.

01:57 The contestants were awarded a champion and received P50,000 from the town of Balabagan.
02:03 Bubong was the first runner-up and used P30,000 while Marantau was the second runner-up and was awarded P15,000.
