00:00Hi there, Molly. What's happening? It's looking pretty busy behind you.
00:06Good afternoon, Mel. It absolutely is. There's a cast of thousands already here today.
00:12And this is just the Brisbane March. Protesters will take to the streets right across the nation today,
00:18calling for sanctions on Israel and an end to the conflict in Gaza.
00:22Now, this particular march in Brisbane gained quite a lot of attention
00:26when organisers outlined their plans to march across the iconic Story Bridge.
00:32Now, police put a stop to that.
00:35They took that matter to court and said that it was unsafe to do so.
00:39Organisers have instead chosen to march from here in Queen's Garden,
00:43right in the city across the Victoria Bridge.
00:46Now, those organisers say they've achieved what they wanted to
00:50by gaining a lot of attention to the cause.
00:53There is still quite a large police presence here today,
00:56but officers say they have scaled back the number of police present.
01:01Alright, Molly Slattery reporting from Brisbane there for us. Thank you.
