00:00 Billionaire Elon Musk's space exploration company SpaceX is poised to launch the world's
00:19 largest commercial communications satellite tomorrow.
00:22 A Falcon Heavy rocket will launch Maxar Technologies' largest ever satellite called Jupiter 3.
00:29 SpaceX deferred the launch of the huge Jupiter 3 mission with the Falcon Heavy at almost
00:34 the last minute before it was about to take off.
00:38 The launch has now been delayed by a day.
00:40 Approximately eight minutes after the launch, Falcon Heavy's side boosters will return to
00:44 Earth and land on landing zones 1 and 2.
00:48 In a departure from usual practice, SpaceX will expend its core booster in the Atlantic
00:52 Ocean following the first stage separation rather than attempting a drone ship landing
00:58 at sea.
01:00 So what is Jupiter 3 mission?
01:04 Developed by Maxar Technologies in Palo Alto, California, the satellite named Jupiter 3
01:09 is the largest commercial communications satellite ever built.
01:13 Jupiter 3 is not just impressive in size but also in its abilities.
01:17 Once fully deployed, the satellite's size will rival the wingspan of a commercial airliner,
01:22 measuring between 130 to 160 feet.
01:25 However, it is not just the size that makes Jupiter 3 extraordinary but also its advanced
01:30 technological features and capabilities.
01:33 The satellite is expected to double the capacity of the company's satellite fleet with an additional
01:38 500 Gbps, enabling them to serve more customers, particularly in areas where cable and fiber
01:43 connectivity are unavailable or unreliable.
01:47 The communications satellite will support in-flight Wi-Fi, maritime connections, enterprise
01:51 networks, backhaul for mobile network operators, and community Wi-Fi solutions across North
01:56 and South America.
01:57 Falcon Heavy will push the satellite into geostationary orbit.
02:01 In a tweet, SpaceX said, "Falcon Heavy is vertical at launch Complex 39A ahead of tonight's
02:07 launch.
02:08 The 99-minute window opens at 11.04pm ET and weather is 85% favorable for liftoff."
02:14 Last week, SpaceX in Indonesia launched a satellite from the US aimed at bringing high-speed
02:19 internet to remote areas across the island country.
02:22 The European-built Sathria 1 took off on 19 July from a Florida launch station deployed
02:27 by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
02:29 Indonesian President Joko Widodo called it the country's first government-owned multifunction
02:34 satellite with the biggest capacity in Asia.
02:37 The device is scheduled to come online by 2024 and will offer a connection speed of
02:41 150 Gbps, three times the current speed of satellite internet in the archipelago.
02:47 In May, SpaceX sent two Saudi Arabia's astronauts, including the nation's first woman in space,
02:52 to the International Space Station.
02:54 A SpaceX capsule docked with the ISS on 22 May as part of a private mission chartered
02:59 by Axiom Space.
03:01 The Axiom Mission 2 crew took off aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space
03:05 Center.
