00:00We're bringing back a focus on fitness, ability, character, and strength, and that's because the purposes of the American military is not to protect anyone's feelings.
00:11I've never walked into a room so silent before. This is very... Oh, don't laugh, don't laugh, you're not allowed to do that.
00:17Thank you very much, Pete. Great job you're doing, too. Fantastic job.
00:22I've never walked into a room so silent before. This is very... Oh, don't laugh, don't laugh, you're not allowed to do that.
00:28You know what? Just have a good time. And if you want to applaud, you applaud.
00:33And if you want to do anything you want, you can do anything you want.
00:36And if you don't like what I'm saying, you can leave the room. Of course, there goes your rank, there goes your future.
00:44But you just feel nice and loose, okay, because we're all on the same team.
00:49And I was told that, sir, you won't hear a murmur in the room.
00:55I said, we got to loosen these guys up a little bit.
00:57So you just have a good time, but...
01:00We'll throw around that word.
01:04I call it the N-word.
01:06There are two N-words, and you can't use either of them.
01:11You can't use either of them.
01:13And, frankly,
01:15If it does get to use, we have more than anybody else.
01:20We have better, we have newer.
01:24But it's something we don't ever want to even have to think about.
01:26This, and I want to be very clear about this.
01:29This is not about preventing women from serving.
01:32We very much value the impact of female troops.
01:37Our female officers and NCOs are the absolute best in the world.
01:41But when it comes to any job that requires physical power to perform in combat,
01:48those physical standards must be high and gender neutral.
01:52If women can make it, excellent.
01:55If not, it is what it is.
01:58If that means no women qualify for some combat jobs, so be it.
02:02That is not the intent, but it could be the result.
02:06So be it.
02:06It will also mean that weak men won't qualify,
02:11because we're not playing games.
02:13This is combat.
02:14This is life or death.
02:16As we all know, this is you versus an enemy hell-bent on killing you.
02:21To be an effective, lethal fighting force,
02:24you must trust that the warrior alongside you in battle is capable,
02:30truly physically capable of doing what is necessary under fire.
02:33You know this is the only standard you would want for your kids and for your grandkids.
02:41Apply the War Department golden rule, the 1990 test, and the E6 test,
02:46and it's really hard to go wrong.
02:48We're bringing back a focus on fitness, ability, character, and strength,
02:52and it's because the purposes of the American military is not to protect anyone's feelings.
02:58It's to protect our republic, and it's the republic that we dearly love.
03:04It's to protect our country.
03:06We will not be politically correct when it comes to defending American freedom,
03:12and we will be a fighting and winning machine.
03:15We want to fight.
03:15We want to win.
03:17And we want to fight as little as possible.
03:18You have to count on people like me to keep you out of wars.
03:21We were a little bit threatened by Russia recently,
03:27and I sent a submarine, nuclear submarine,
03:32the most lethal weapon ever made.
03:36Number one, you can't detect it.
03:38There's no way.
03:39We're 25 years ahead of Russia and China in submarines.
03:43Russia's actually second in submarines.
03:46China's third, but, you know, they're coming up.
03:49They're coming up.
03:50They're way lower in nuclear, too, but in five years, they'll be equal.
03:53They're coming.
03:54Ones that are run by the radical left Democrats,
03:56what they've done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles,
04:03they're very unsafe places, and we're going to straighten them out one by one.
04:07And this is going to be a major part for some of the people in this room.
04:10That's a war, too.
04:11It's a war from within.
04:13Controlling the physical territory of our border is essential to national security.
04:20I've never walked into a room so silent before.
04:44This is very...
04:46Don't laugh.
04:47Don't laugh.
04:47You're not allowed to do that.
04:49You know what?
04:49Just have a good time.
04:51And if you want to applaud, you applaud.
04:53And if you want to do anything you want, you can do anything you want.
04:56And if you don't like what I'm saying, you can leave the room.
04:59Of course, there goes your rank.
05:00There goes your future.
05:01But you just feel nice and loose, okay, because we're all on the same team.
05:08And I was told that, sir, you won't hear a murmur in the room.
05:14I said, we've got to loosen these guys up a little bit.
