00:00 Sea lions are usually very friendly and sometimes even playful when they interact with people.
00:08 But recently on a beach in San Diego, California, things got ugly.
00:12 This video was captured at La Jolla Cove, and this is the moment a group of sea lions
00:17 attacked some humans who were trying to share a beach there.
00:24 It's a spot both species visit regularly, but on this day a couple of males were seemingly
00:28 in bad moods, charging at beach goers and asserting their sunbathing spot.
00:33 As the people on the beach gave way, you can hear a beach official make an announcement
00:36 over the loudspeaker, with the official saying "Please give that large male sea lion plenty
00:41 of room.
00:42 They have bitten people, and they are protected animals."
00:45 And apparently this isn't the first time this has happened at this location.
00:49 The males are known to assert themselves on the beach, and there are even signs posted
00:53 warning people about such interactions.
00:55 Luckily on this occasion, no one was hurt.
