00:07This week I've got the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier, where everything except the frame
00:13is brand new. It's been a long time coming, but as you'll see, it will be worth the wait.
00:24The truck looks great, with front fenders that are built into the new LED headlights.
00:28There's a large grille borrowed from the Titan with tow hooks down low. I love the bulging hood,
00:3517-inch wheels and meaty tires, the functional running boards, and the bed-mounted roll bars.
00:42Under the hood, you'll find a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 that is putting out 310 horses
00:49and 281 pound-feet of torque. It's mated to a strong shifting 9-speed automatic transmission.
00:57My tester is the Pro 4X, which means it's a four-wheel drive with serious off-road capability.
01:05It has Bilstein shocks, shift-on-the-fly, and skid plates under the truck in the front and rear.
01:11Moving to the interior, this is a huge improvement over previous years. The NASA-designed zero-gravity
01:18leather seats are super comfortable heated, and the driver gets power controls. As you sit,
01:24there are colorful analog gauges and a driver info center that works from the steering wheel.
01:30High Center Dash is a large 9-inch infotainment screen that handles the terrific Fender Sound
01:36system, navigation, voice recognition, Sirius XM, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
01:44It will also give you real-time sports scores, traffic, fuel prices, weather, and how the stock
01:50market is doing. The center console is well done and has a couple of grab handles, the gear shifter,
01:57cup holders, a wireless charger, and USB and USB-C ports. To the right of the steering wheel is the
02:04push-button start and the four-wheel drive selector. To the left are buttons for various things, including
02:10tow mode. The back seat is roomy with a fold-down armrest and cup holders. There are more USB and
02:17USB-C
02:18ports and an outlet for a 110 plug-in. The back seat folds up and has a nice storage area
02:25underneath.
02:27This is a five-foot bed, has a spray-in bed liner, and Nissan's terrific
02:32Utilitrack cargo management system with four adjustable tie-downs and another 110 power outlet
02:38in the bed. This is the top-of-the-line version and is heavily equipped with heated mirrors,
02:45a trailer hitch, a power moonroof, keyless entry, remote start, and the full leather seats. On the
02:52safety side, you get lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking
02:58sensors with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, rear-view camera, and traffic sign
03:04recognition. The Frontier Pro 4X is a beast off the road, yet a very good daily driver. The off-road
03:13tires make a little bit of road noise, but it's tolerable. The ride is good and acceleration is
03:18terrific from the V6. Two things I noted was the steering feels a little heavy in city driving,
03:25but would be good off-road. I also think the turning radius could be shorter, but all in all,
03:32it is an enjoyable mid-size truck. Fuel economy is rated at 17 city and 22 highway. Not bad for
03:39a
03:394,800-pound four-wheel drive truck that will tow over 6,700 pounds. Total MSRP, as you see it,
03:49is $46,070,
03:51which hits me is a little high and getting too close to full-size trucks, but it does have
03:58everything you can put on one. Thanks for riding along with us today for another CarPro Test Drive
04:04this week featuring the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X mid-size truck. If you think this might be
04:11your dream truck, go to CarPro.com and click on Find Your CarPro Dealer for the nearest Nissan dealer to
