Katherine women strive for financial independence as new SmartCard launched

The Federal Government's bill to move welfare recipients onto a new income management card could affect the lives of thousands of residents in the Northern Territory. In a bid to take matters into their own hands, a group of women in the regional town of Katherine are empowering each other to move off welfare altogether.
