The Ukrainian defence reported that another Russian general, Vitaly Gerasimov, was killed during the battle near Kharkiv on Monday, March 7. According to the Ukrainian defence ministry, Vitaly Gerasimov played a role in the Second Chechen War and the Russian military operations that took place in Syria.
