Columbia - Statue of Liberty, queen of heaven, , Semiramis, goddess of America

This was a bit of a shocker for me. There's this woman, and you've seen her in the Columbia Pictures logo; the woman with the robe and the torch. She is also the same lady who stands in New York Harbor; Lady Liberty. But if you trace her roots, she goes way back to the ancient city of Babylon in the time of Nimrod - the builder of said city. Doing the research and finding out who this woman is and what she stands for is really unsettling.

Here we are professing to be a Christian founded nation, but this woman - Columbia, this goddess is everywhere! She is in our movies with Columbia pictures, our music - Columbia Music, our education system with Columbia University, The space shuttle Columbia and on and on. She appears on many of our state capitol spires, sometimes as a female roman warrior, other times as the great mother with stars about her head and a light blazing torch in her hand. She is embossed on our hall of justice, the supreme court building... egads she is all over. It is as if we have dedicated our whole country secretly, or not so secretly to this Goddess.

Is it any wonder that when the Bible speaks of judgement on the "great city" it talks about a woman who is the whore of Babylon, the great harlot of the earth... "Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who is seated upon many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and with the wine of whose fornication the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and bedecked with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication; and on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of harlots and of earth’s abominations.” And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus." (The book of Revelation chapter 17). But just what is the harlot? Well the Bible speaks for itself.. “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages. The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled. 18 The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”
