China Pulls Out 10,000 Troops From Depth Areas Of LAC; Possibly Due To 'Extreme Winters'
In a major development, the Chinese Army has withdrawn around 10,000 soldiers from the depth areas on its side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The development has taken place in the traditional training areas of the Chinese Army close to the Indian territory in Ladakh. The areas are lying empty at present, top government sources told India Today TV.
The Chinese side had deployed 50,000 troops on the Indian border since March-April last year when the entire world was fighting Covid-19 pandemic.
The troops have been withdrawn from the areas around 200 km from Indian side, possibly due to extreme winters and difficulties in maintaining them there, sources said.
