NASA’s TESS Caught a Black Hole Tearing Apart a Star

A star assassin disposing of its victim was captured by NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite. The rare phenomenon only happens once every 10,000-100,000 years in galaxies like ours. The findings were published in The Astrophysical Journal.
