1 In the next verse Sanjaya called Dhritarashtra, Prithivi-Pati, which means King of the earth.

2 Sanjaya takes the names of other warrior who were participating in the war in the seventeenth and eighteenth stanza;
||Kashyascha Parameshvasah Shikhandicha Maha-Rathah
Dhrishtadyumno Viratashcha Satyakischa Aparajitah || 17 ||
||Drupado Draupadeyashcha Sarvashah Prithivi-Pate
Saubhadrashcha Maha-Bahuh Shankhan Dadhmuh Prithak Prithak || 18

3 The stanza can be roughly translated as;
The excellent archer and king of Kasi, the great fighter Shikhandi, Dhrishtadyumna, Virata and the invincible Satyaki, Drupada, the five sons of Draupadi, and the mighty-armed Abhimanyu, son of Subhadra, O Ruler of the earth, all of them separately blew their conch shells.

4 The nineteenth stanza Sanjaya says;
|| Sa Ghosho Dhartarashtranam Hrdayani Vyadarayaat
Nabhashcha Prithivim Chaiva Tumulo ‘Bhyanunadayan||

5 This stanza is roughly translated as;
The tremendous sound of these conches roared across both the sky and the earth, as it shivered the hearts of Dhritarasthra’s sons.
