Historian defends Philip’s letter to woman hurt in crash

Royal historian Robert Lacey has defended the timing of Prince Philip’s letter of apology to a woman hurt in a car accident he was involved in. The Duke of Edinburgh told mother-of-two Emma Fairweather, who was injured in the accident that he was "deeply sorry". Prince Philip, 97, escaped injury on January 17 when the Land Rover Freelander he was driving collided with another vehicle when he pulled out of a driveway on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk onto a busy A road.
