Ministers have sought to end the perception they are leading “very different lives” to the public ahead of Labour’s party conference amid efforts to draw a line under a row about clothing donations to high-profile Government figures. 00:07are declared properly and on time that is completely within the rules. We don't want

00:13people to think for a moment that we're more interested in gifts or donations than we are

00:19in the country and I think that's why we've taken a fairly sensible decision that there

00:25won't be any donations or gifts accepted of the kind that we've seen in the last few months.

00:33We're perfectly prepared to accept scrutiny and criticism and challenge and where we think we've

00:38got it wrong we're a government that will be responsive and open to changing our minds.
