Massive fire breaks out at former school in Middlesbrough with residents told to ‘keep windows shut’

Flames and smoke were seen billowing into the air from the derelict Eston Park Academy, close to people's homes, with surrounding roads cut off.

It's not yet known how the fire started and crews have been on the scene since last night.
