The CEO of James Cropper Paper Manufacturing, one of only three UK facilities that can recycle coffee cups, says that the challenge is not the technology, but the supply of cups to the plant. Phil Wild says his facility is currently using a fraction of its capacity to reprocess half a billion cups. His comments come after MPs suggested consumers should be charged a 25p "latte levy" on disposable cups with the revenue used to pay for improved recycling facilities. Meanwhile, Director of environmental charity Hubbub Gavin Ellis says recent campaigns reveal that the public would use coffee cup-only recycling bins. Report by Jonesia.
