ಈ ಮುಂಚೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರಕಾರ ಅವಧಿಗೂ ಮುನ್ನವೇ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಸುದ್ದಿ ಹಬ್ಬಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೀಗ ಈ ಅಂತೆ-ಕಂತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಬ್ರೇಕ್ ಹಾಕಿರುವ ಸಿಎಂ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯನವರು ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
